Fang Bo's Equipment 2015

It's been a while since we discussed and looked at the pro's set up. It looks like Fang Bo is back to using Tenergy 05 on the backhand.

These pictures have been taken from Chinese National Training camp in Xiamen prior to the 2015 WTTC.

I thought that he changed his bh rubber to h3 with custom sponge.And what is this purple sponge??

Hi, I think they have mistaken. This is not ML blade. It's Fang Bos blade.

Here are the official pictures from ITTF-Website.

Now look at this photo taken from the game against FZD:

Look at the "5" marking beside ML picture.

And the last picture taken from the final game against Fang Bo:

There are 2 almost identical blades. Again, look at the "5" (Ma Long blade).

Now compare those blades. The difference is the sponge on the red rubber.

Ma Long still uses the red Hurricane rubber!

It also appears that Xu Xin swtich back to Hurricane 3 on backhand.

People on Chinese forum also notice Ma Long's and Xu Xin's backhand sponge are not Tenegry.

The last photo is not related to Ma Long's blade.
The purple/blue rubber says Zhang Jike in Chinese on it.

Yep, in the photos, the sponge on ML's racket looks too light, more yellow, less orange, than Tenergy. I couldn't tell with XX's BH rubber.

It is probably Zhang Jike forehand rubber, the reddish one is probably his backhand.

The serial number and layout of the print suggest it is a DHS rubber. It seems on the Chinese forum they are saying that is the Blue sponge H3 Zhang Jike is using. It might be the lighting that makes it a bit off color. The red Tenergy seems a bit off color as well. Also the the white paper label on the black uncut rubber underneath is also a bit off color.

Also the H3 blue sponge is 42 degree in hardness according to the print.

Well I was talking with my friend, who was also playing in the worlds and he told me this:
"Dont look on what equipment the top players have. Its not what you can get. They got customised versions, made just for them! Only for them! They can have DHS rubber with same attributes as Tenergy, if they want to. Manufacturers and sponsors develop rubbers for their expectations and whats on the rubber, that is all marketing. Same for the blade. Even I have customised rubbers and I am world no. 400. So think about what they got?"

So - guys - talking about top players equipment is completely useless.. Its all marketing..

Oh, and.. I told him that I have seen LGL saying that Fan Zhendong is playing with Stiga blade Stiga Carbonado 190 that I am supposed to become as I won the competition. Well, he told me that for 100% the blade he (FZD) is using is modified and not that kind that stiga is selling to people. He also agreed that when I will become the blade, he will test it and we will make a small review that I will publish in the Equipment feed in here

yeah, you get custom DHS rubbers for all CNT players

It is very strange that Fang Bo is using ZJK's personal spec rubber.
If it is the same spec, DHS would just print Fang Bo instead

Personal spec includes:
- Sponge type
- sponge hardness
- Top sheet tackiness
- weight/density
- Top sheet adjustment (pips)

You can say there is many different variations of H3 National in CNT, and DHS will customize everything to the tee for them

Same would apply for any other brands too

Because it is probably not Fang Bo rubber, it is probably ZJK rubber.

The source of these pic are from a Chinese table tennis media trip to the training center. He took a bunch of photo of many CNT equipment and not just Fang Bo's. The OP posted a subset of the photos.

Fang Bo's rubber's sponge is obviously orange, not white.
