Baal might not have considered that, but such a minor imbalance would put a premium on serving first and add something new and a little more exciting to the mix. There is nothing like a small advantage that players get to fight for.

All major sports in USA give some kind of advantage to the team with the best record in playoffs, whether it is playing in their home stadium, or they got the possibility of one more home game in their arena...

Why not apply this to TT? Good idea to me.

I dont like 15 points either, but what the heck.

I hadn't though of that!

As a lad in the sixties, we played to 5 during lunch breaks and 11 after school. When we got onto our school team, We played to 15 or 21. All because we only ever had 1 table.
But I never thought of playing to 16. Also the WCPP plays to 15. NL may be onto something here.
edit: hmm, I wonder if that's the same reasoning used by the CNT when they organise their trials games to 6 instead of 5.
