There were also photos from the room where they tested the blades at WTTC that show Ma Long's blade and on the handle, my memory, if you blew the photo up large enough, you could see it said w968.

Could you find that picture again? Whether it is the W997 or W968 it is only guessing until someone can verify what he is using. The latest picture where it was certain it was W997 were back from Tokyo in 2014.

I was wrong. I found the photo but it was Fang Bo's blade where you could see W968 on the side. And your photo clearly shows the writing on the side that says W997. So, until there is proof of something different, that must be the last blade that we know for sure that Ma Long was using. Thanks GiangT.

Also bear in mind he could have given these to Dima for him to give away to his friends...

Two blades with signatures for the recently crowned world champion, that would be a very nice present for a good TT friend I find. No need to start thinking whether anyone will put a Donic handle on them.

Isn't Dima playing with a Clipper anyway (so all wood) ? And if he wants to go composite, Timo can give him a few blades I'm sure.
