Hello ! Today I would like to share my pocket digital weight scale for table tennis product. Actually I have two and both can easily buy from the Internet, I think under £10 can get a very good one.

The first one is a small one given by my sister, it can measure under 100g therefore not suitable for table tennis blade with rubbers.
I use this scale to weigh some new 40+ balls last year.

The second one is a larger one ( but still compact ), it can measure under 500g, suitable for blades and rubbers.

My favorite Schlager Carbon with black tag:

My another favorite, Timo Boll Spirit with both sides T05 2.1mm :

And lastly, this is a photo from Timo Boll's Facebook, he weighs his blade before WTTC 2015,

Please share your (digital) weight scale for table tennis product !!!

Is Timo's scale saying 190g or 198g?
Accuracy of these cheap scales are way good enough for TT bat or rubber measurements. I used a weight for reference and the scale was within spec at the time. So we can assume they are accurate to within +/- 0.5g at least.

edit: Just been to the FB link and saw that it is 190.47g.
So assuming a rubber weight of about 49g each, his blade weighs about 91-93g. Is that heavy or normal weight for a TB ALC?

Hi Tinykin,
Normally, Timo Boll ALC is around 8Xg, I have an ALC with 84g.

That would fit with that idea that a lot of the pros use blades between 90-95 grams.

If his blade does weigh 90-95g and total bat weight is 190g, does that back up TB's past statement that he does not boost?

I tried a friend's ALC +T80/T80 last night. The setup felt much crisper and sharper than my TBS + T05/R9. My TBS is light at around 82g but was the difference more because of the rubber or blade? Or is there a design difference between the blades other than the handle?
I preferred my setup overall as it better suits my defensive reacting/containing type game.

Tinykin, I read somewhere(maybe even on TTD) that pros do seal heavily their blades, so if we assume that the blade is around 88g, 3g of sealing isn't really that much. And also we shouldn't forget that pros aren't buying their blades from simple tt shops, they do play custom made blades, and the TB ALC name is just a way for Butterfly to make money.

Nice scale Dan,
I would like to ask if Fan Zhendong uses a 93g 145 with both sides Airoc M to test the blade with you in the video?

Thanks buddy, it does the job. I want to get a smaller one which measures to the 100th (i.e. 0.7g) so I can measure the weight of balls etc precisely.

Fan Zhendong used the Carbonado 145 with Airoc M on both sides. I am unsure of the weight of the blade that he used I'm afraid.

I've watched your carbonado 145 video review playing with Fan Zhendong & the text review from TTD member Giangt before I get my 145, it is a great fun for both sides Airoc M.

I could have used your photos in my video review, nice! :)

I am glad you like it, i am very impressed by its control. It's the closest carbon blade i've used with a wood feeling.
