Pure, unadulterated awesomeness!
Well done :)

But, but, but... Karlsson to Butterfly?!
Nooo! :-/

Why is that negative? Better to use Tenergy and be sponsored by Butterfly, than to use Tenergy and be sponsored by Stiga...

I think it could be usefull too for english people because reading spend less time than looking at a video ?

Why is that negative?
Because Butterfly is now sponsoring virtually every single up-and-coming young player on the TT scene.

Better to use Tenergy and be sponsored by Butterfly, than to use Tenergy and be sponsored by Stiga...
I'm afraid I don't understand the logic of that statement at all. Why would the rubber you play stipulate which sponsor is better for you?
With that logic "Better to use Clipper and be sponsored by Stiga, than to use Clipper and be sponsored by Butterfly..." would be equally true. But it isn't. It's just equally illogical.

I also don't quite see what's wrong with mixing blade and rubber manufacturers as a player. I do, you do and I see no reason why this would be a hindrance to a pro player either. Heck, most of them do already and some of them even have blades that carry replaced handles.

Sponsorship is less about what you play and more about how much they pay.
Right now Butterfly mops up all new talent and I don't see how one company dominating to that degree can that be good for table tennis in the longer run. That's the reason why I think this is a negative thing.

I believe you have to consider the ethical perspective.. If you are sponsored by a company that states in public that you are using their rubber, then it's kinda uncool to actually use a different brand than your sponsor. Therefore I state that it's better to use what Stiga pays you to use, or change sponsor so that you get paid for what you actually are using.

Excellent podcast - well done.

But here's a few minor quibbles. Why have you got a US announcer? It sounds really cheesy.

Regarding the actual interview, you asked if he did much multi ball. He said 'Not a lot.' I would have liked a very important follow-up question - 'Why not?' Also, boosting was only touched on in the quick-fire questions. Surely this controversial topic deserves at least two minutes of discussion.

Anyway, I look forward to the next one. Good luck.

Hi, Mj

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry you don't like the announcer but its just a bit of fun. So maybe just don't listen to that part next time ??
With regards to the your other points sorry we didn't expand on these two issues but glad you enjoyed the other content. We are still learning and your feedback is important as it helps us see where we can improve.

Regards,
Tom

Thanks for replying, Tom. Don't worry - I can bear the announcer for 2 seconds. I still think, however, you should ask the 'booster question' to every player that you interview. But don't mix it up with the film/music trivia quickies - it's far too important.

Cheers
MJB.

Well done. interesting and fun. Which Stiga blade did Kristian use before he changed to Butterfly?
A Clipper Wood, as far as I know.
Maybe he will keep playing it and and just change the handles like a lot of other players :p

But seriously and out of sheer curiosity, if he does change to a Butterfly blade which one would he most likely pick? Which one is a decent replica of the Clipper Wood?
