you think you can beat liu guoliang in a world championship without training?
is this thread a joke or what?!?!?!?!?!?

No-one says he did not practice at all.

Everybody says if he had practiced more he could have been an even greater player.

He admits that, but says "then I wouldn´t be Kara".

The match vs Liu was a definite highlight.

The next round he lost against some far lesser player instead of cashing in on the Liu win and making it to the semi final or something. That is also part of the Kara story.

In my limited experience, old Pros still have a pro mentality towards equipment. That is, they will play with whatever equipment that someone gives them or pays them to use.

Most of them are still under contract, so that would be the norm. And the palettes of the manufacturers are broad, so you´ll normally find something that fits.

When Bojan Tokic came to my club to train as guest after training I speak with him and he showed me that he use Boll Spirit with Tibhar handle

And sometimes the palette isn´t broad enough, and you´ll find a workaround ;)

True :), the old pros do tend to hold onto their favourite blades.
