Point by Point Intervals

Good day everyone,

I have a question regarding the intervals. After a point has been made, How long is too long before the Umpire calls upon your attention and says "Play"?

10 seconds, 20 seconds? we are currently having a debate about this and we hope that you are able to help us :)

It is on the umpire's personal decision. There is no specific amount of time by the rules. For example if a long fast rally occurs the umpire should not call the players to play immediately, they need to take a good breath first and relax. Ma lin took advantage of this "grey" area many times in his carreer to slow the pace down if he was losing, pretty good tactic, but he was yellow carded lots of times also
