I learned there is a Hiarcs Chess forum. I have Hiarcs. I never would have thought to look for a forum until this thread.
BTW, the strategy of opening with A3 or H3 and transitioning to a normal opening does throw poor chess programs out of their opening book. I know people use to play odd ball openings to get my chess program out of its opening book. However, I added features so that the chess program would transition back into the book if it could. I am sure the Hiarcs program does the same. The question won't be answered now is can ARB beat Hiarcs if Hiarcs is set to its tournament level?
