What is missing in Wang Hao, Xu Xin, Wong Chun Ting and Xue fei is the amazing short game tactic of Ma Lin. In terms of power and BH, Ma Lin is the weakest among them. Yet Ma Lin was able to beat Wang Hao multiple times due to his smart short game and unpredictable tactic.

What we need in the future penholder is the unpredictable short game tactic + powerful RPB loops (like Wang Hao) + deadly FH loop (like Xu Xin). If Xue Fei can reign in all three areas he could bring back the Olympic gold medal to the penhold kingdom :)

I almost never ask about equipment, but can anyone figure out what rubber Xue Fei uses on his backhand?

I want to test whether a european soft sponge rubber or a chinese hard sponge is better for rpb

im not sure what Xue Fei uses, but generally you can look at a typical T05 hardness for rpb
for more amateur level, then T05FX hardness level

Revival! Has anyone noticed his improvement in the 2020 Marvelous 12? His backhand is aggressive and his forehand seems to be really improving (see his match against Ma Long counter looping).

Looks like he's still using WH2. Really wondering what BH rubber he's using in this tournament.
