Worlds Sexiest Female TT Player

Do any of these photos really demean the athlete or show something undignified? Am I missing something?

I chose one woman athlete. I chose photos that I think show the feminine beauty and natural sexiness associated with that femininity, all from actual match photos.

yes; you forgot to say that Maria is cheating, and taking drugs...
Maria is damn hot.

The problem is that many players in TT are really really very very young, and if we try to find them sexy, we might have to ask ourselves if we are pedophiles...

For the other ones, table tennis players have really very strong legs, thats not a feature considered as sexy according to common "standards" and tchoooing and having agressive attitudes like male players do is not sexy either.

Then, outside the court, we have yet another confirmation that with some cosmetics and lipsticks, any young girl can look sexy...

Remember the old joke:
- why do women put on cosmetics and spray themselves with perfume ?
- Because they're ugly and they stink

TWI, I fail to understand how pedophilia and more feminine clothes for female TT players are related.

It's up to the parents and the kids themselves to present themselves in a decent way. Blame nature for making fairly young girls look like women. Even if women in their early 20's are still just kids in most men's eyes.

Really many good points made so far.

Carl, i wanna hit the Super-like button on your postings.
:)
Thanks for pointing out these double standards, that seem to be totally acceptable to some.
[Emoji106]

But all the others too. I respect each and every statement made so far, even yoass'.

Archo made me smile. :)

And Takkyu has a point with young age too. Not sure if i would want my daughter to face this.
But then again:
there doesn't seem to be a problem with this at Tennis or swimming or gymnastics!

And at pro level the age usually isn't much below 18 with some well known exceptions of course.

So, not sure if that would play a big role in my book. Do you see how eighteen year olds dress nowadays?
In fact, could it also play a role that tabletennis isn't that attractive to young females, because they just don't like dressing and behaving like boys?

Just a thought...

I think it's totally up to the players how they want to look and it would be a good idea to have more feminine clothes.

For the young players: just take a look to any school and you will see how the 16 yo. girls dress, but even 14 yo.s have a make up. (Japan is exception, because of the ban of make up in schools and there might be other places where such things aren't accepted from young girls)

One more thing, that the hair, voice and expressions are extremely important. For example Mima Ito (don't hit me, I'm young enough) on the court is not someone who would caught your eyes, but after seeing off the court videos I think she is quite pretty (not sexy and nothing special, but pretty).
I'm sure that with different hairstyles (which are unfortunately unusable during matches) many TT player would look much better. Different hairstyles emphasize on different characteristics of the face, can highlight or hide details and this is something what can't be changed on the court, because only a few hair style is practical.
Voice and expressions (body language too) are important as well. To be honest I don't like that much Bernadette Szocs, and I think this is related strongly to what I've seen and heard from her during matches and during interviews. (Though she isn't my type based on her look)

Maria is damn hot.

Yeah, but the actually issue is she lets herself be feminine and sexy while playing. And it is not a contradiction that she is feminine and athletic, sexy and strong. In those photos, she is both at the same time. I could have chosen any number of women tennis players.

The problem is that many players in TT are really really very very young, and if we try to find them sexy, we might have to ask ourselves if we are pedophiles...

I am not sure why this idea even comes up. I am in my 50s. I am a father. I have a teenage daughter. My daughter is beautiful. Perhaps a bit too beautiful. She likes to dress in a boyish way. It takes attention off her. I totally get that and feel that is good. It is her choice. But me seeing that my daughter is beautiful and sexy does not mean I want to have sex with her.

I see so many children, children of all ages who are beautiful. Some are elegant. Some are powerful. Some are boys, some are girls. Sometimes a beautiful girl or woman is totally unsexy, and yet, still beautiful. And sometimes a person who is not really beautiful is still sexy. However, someone who is sexy is not someone who turns YOU into a pedophile or a sex addict.

I think this goes down to what Monster was saying. Think of his statement about when you hit an amazing shot, and the shot is sexy! Would a really beautiful hook shot that has a great trajectory turn anyone into a rapist or a pedophile? Rapists and pedophile's are what they are before they see a sexy human of either gender. And a sexy human of either gender does not need to be presenting in a pornographic manner to be sexy.

Suga D's example of that elegant older woman still being sexy even if none of us would really think of having sex with her as a first thought.

For the other ones, table tennis players have really very strong legs, thats not a feature considered as sexy according to common "standards" and tchoooing and having agressive attitudes like male players do is not sexy either.

I purposely put photos of Maria Sharapova doing a tennis version of choing. A few of them. Notice, she is still sexy. And that she is sexy does not mean I will jump out of my skin and turn into a rapist or even think of having sex with her. It just means she has a certain air about her that is attractive in a complex way.

And if a woman has a certain kind of body, and it is sexy, then it is sexy. Table tennis does not give you bigger, bulkier, more muscular, less sexy legs than tennis. It might even be the other way around. And yet there are many many female tennis players who are quite sexy despite how athletic they are.

However, I have a feeling that you have this impression simply because of how female TT players are forced to dress. Not because of whether they are sexy or not.

Sex and sexy are not the same thing. Sexy and pornography are not the same thing. Elegant beauty does not lead to someone turning into a pedophile. Issues that are not connected are being associated and it seems to me, that for some reason, some of us are not so comfortable with our own sexuality or with the sexuality of others. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe this is just a misunderstanding of language.

But there would be nothing wrong with a woman TT player who was sexy and good.

Why can women find top male futbol players, or any other kind of athlete for that matter, sexy while men are not supposed to find women athletes sexy?

Well, I don't think equating free expression of female identity with a norm for showing skin, provocative dress helps things. Avoiding the word "toxic" here...

I decided the this quote really brings out some of the issues that have come up.

Why does sexy get equated with showing skin? How did sexy get equated with something sordid that makes us feel "dirty"!

Did any of the photos of Maria Sharapova show too much skin or areas of her body that would make the photos creepy? I am pretty sure not! And in fact, I have a feeling she is not wearing makeup in most of them. But she has a feminine elegance that seems to me to be stifled and suppressed in women's TT.

Again, if it is truly a women's choice to dress in a boy-like manner, I get that. I support it. But it seems it would be frowned on in TT for a women to present herself how Maria Sharapova does in her tennis matches where she shows us she can be powerful and athletic while still being feminine and sexy.

In short, feminine and sexy are not the same as showing skin, showing women (or girls) in compromising and revealing garments: feminine and sexy are not opposites to powerful and athletic: feminine and sexy are not pornographic.

Everyone believes they know the ethical standard, funny since ethical standards are broken and then some aspects that were looser are being made more solid. Yet there is a wide disagreement on several aspects, and that's where subjectivity appears. What is the "most-up-to-date acknowledged standard? Well, it's certainly subjective no matter which it is...
Sexy is to some dirty, meanwhile being feminine is pure. To some sexy is a compliment to others it's ALMOST(!) linked with being a dirty bitch. That's what it sounds like at least... or is this just related to feminist ideologies? idk. Rather not involve myself... but too late.

Well, since Sexy is not "politically" correct, I have the solution guys.
Let's make it: "Worlds most feminine female player" (just between us... the term can now relate to both sexy AND cute... fancy that?)

I have the list, get it going:
Liu Shiwen, Ding Ning, Naomi Yotsumoto, Hina Hiyata, Kasumi Ishikawa, Ai Fukuhara, Dora Kurimay, Daniela Dodean, Bernadette Scoz, Joanna Parker, Tie Yana, Soo Yeon, Biba Golic Georgina Pota and Margarita Pesotska

Also, I can't let this go un-replied ->

I could write an article on breaking each point down... but I'll keep it short.

1. "pedophile statement" ->
Ita Mimo and Miu Hirano is 17, aka above 16, They're not included... yet they probably should be, because you know, they're above 16... in more than 50% of countries, I believe that's not pedophilia. Though obviously, some countries like to stick to 18+ and some move it down to 14... and is it not even down to 12 in Japan? but what do I know.
The definition of pedophilia go by the countries standards... liking younger women does not make you a pedophile.
did you mean the girls below 16? I don't think there are that many.

2. "Strong legs" is not a common standard? must be some model ideology... Maybe Japan and China and a few other countries have some insanely thin/weak leg fetish, idk. But worldwide, that is definitely not acknowledged as the "common" standard.
Do some research/google and you will know, although, even in other countries where strong legs are preferred, it's all subjective to the individual.
I prefer stronger legs. (of course not chubby, fat legs, but stronger more solid legs)
To give a subjective example: I'd pick Liu Shiwen over Ding Ning, Bernie Szocs or Soon Yeon. (overall, but also due the legs on their own)
Ai Fukuhara vs Liu Shiwen would be a harder decision... meanwhile Petrissa Solja is a bit too strong for my taste, but against Soon Yeon, Ding Ning or Bernie Szocs... I'd to have think about it. Rather I'd have to conversate with them to make a decision lol. Just to illustrate a picture.

Though, the beautiful thing about the world is that, the most general standards (in regards to "preferences"), will usually be tweaked by a greater number than the numbers who prefer the standard itself. (savvy?)
Cultural and individual differences are everywhere. Having a common standard is just ridiculously overrated on it's own. The "common" standards on tabletennisdaily might not be the "common" standards you know. :)

then lastly... "cosmetics"... too tired to start on this... codewords ->

Cosmetics = Quantity "approvement relationships", living in the "now", face "aging" faster, a mask over the natural.
Natural = Quality "approvement relationships", you won't get that makeup face early on in life, your future "love" will according to the "common standard" see you as you are, not the makeup you.

Self-confidence and general approvement, not looking for anything serious? Stash it on.
You want to show you true self, and find someone who loves you for who YOU are? Skip the makeup.
Surely you can try to combine the last with makeup, but in that regards the person has to work his way around your makeup before coming to a conclusion...

To days society is all about putting on masks of different kinds. Tbh I can't stand it.
Which is one of the main reasons I could never vote up Bernadette or Soon Yeon, the legs are not the main problem, they're too aggressive on the makeup. (imho)

Maybe I would get downvoted by the world for these thoughts, and maybe, just maybe I am not the common standard.
But at least, I wear no mask. :) Oh wait... that's the common standard for guys...

NB: I'm 22.
Edit: I also, did not read most the posts below, neither Carl's reply before after replying. So consider it un-influenced.
