Crazy Backhand Shot gone Viral

Hey guys,

Two days ago we uploaded to YouTube this video of Miikka doing a crazy backhand around the net shot to win the point. To our big surprise, the video was then seen on the front page of Reddit and received nearly 3 million views as a GIF.

The video was filmed already in November 2015 during the international Finlandia Open competition. Miikka eventually lost the match 4-3, but at least he got this shot on tape!

It's a pretty nice shot. And the video may just be the right length for the average viewer who doesn't really play TT. Perfect combination. Sweet that it has gone viral.

Yep, I think you are right about the length being perfect. Non-tabletennis people seems to find short and epic rallies as appealing. Hopefully this gave some promotion for table tennis in the Olympics now as well

That article is totally funny. I like the Harry Potter wizard stuff. It is amazing to see a ball curve like that.

this backhand is unreal, CBS was right with bending time and space but i dont know if Einstein "general relativity" still works on that crazy flight path xD i love that shot so much because Miika really wanted to place the ball on that spot with that side spin, it was not fortuna who helped, it was his fantastic talent!!!

I guess there is always some luck in making these shots during (international) matches but it indeed seemed to be a planned shot from Miikka
