Many clubs sell gear offline. So you can just find a list of clubs in LA and e-mail call them.

Is buying offline because you want to get feel of the equipment first?

I always buy from paddlepalace.com. They have many selections and ships fast. They are in Porland so it only take a few days to get it in LA.
