Anshan, the home town of Ma Long and Li Xiao Xia, will host the 2016 National Championships of China from 20 to 28 September. There are 30 teams and 306 players competing in 7 events including MT, WT, MS, WS, MD, WD and XD.

From the entry list released 5 days ago, the Current Grand Slam Champions Ma Long and Ding Ning have both withdrawn from Single events. But they should still be playing Doubles and pair together to represent Beijing in XD.

Last weeks China Open Champion Fan Zhendong enters the National Champs! Via ITTF Flickr

So ZJK and LSW will enter the competition as seed number 1.

Men's Singles and their seeding are as follows.

01) Zhang Jike
02) Fan Zhendong
03) Xu Xin
04) Fang Bo
05) Shang Kun
06) Wang Chuqin, Yan An, Lin Gaoyuan, Zhou Kai
10) Yu Ziyang, Hao Shuai, Zheng Peifeng, Liu Yi, Song Xu
15) Xue Fei, Liang Jingkun, Liu Jikang, Zhou Yu, Xu Rui Feng, Ma Te, Zhou Qihao

Some say National Championships of China is probably the toughest competition and even harder to win than WTTC.

Besides all the top players, we will see another form of competition with many familiar faces of the past as team coaches, including Wang Hao (Liberation Army), Gao Yan (Beijing), Ma Wenge (Tianjin), Chen Qi (Jiangsu), Ma Lin(Guangdong) and Qiu Yike(Sichuan).

Back in 2008 after London Olympics, the 20 years old ZJK made his name beating all three Olympic Champions in the National Championships of the year and shoot to the top with no hold back. Now it could be the time for the newly crowned China Open Champion FZD. Or will there be some one else on his way? Will see in the next 10 days.

LXX.jpg

Looks like LXX is not over yet. :) She appeared as coach of Team Shandong today the very first time. Too bad they lost to Liaoning 2:3 and stop before final 4.

After the match LXX said "Everyone has a time for role change. It is a pity that I can't join as a player today. After one year of break I will come back to the game. I am not through yet and I am not that bad either. Will aim at 2020! Really? Sure."

Wow! Hope that is true.

Upset! Upset! FZD was beaten by Kong Ling Xuan in Semi Final. Liberation Army loss to Shandong 0:3. Although ZJK was not playing, Shandong still managed to beat LA 3:0 and proceed to Final. In the other half, Shanghai beat Jiangsu 3:1 and will meet Shandong in the MT Final.

When Liberation Army met Beijing earlier in the Quarter Final, FZD and ZY took the first and second games. ML later took the third. But FZD came back and beat Yan An in the fourth and eliminated Beijing.

In WT Quarter, Liaoning 3:2 Shandong. Beijing 3:2 Heilongjiang. Shanxi 3:0 Hebei. Sichuan 3:1 LA. Later in Semi, Shanxi 3:1 Liaoning and Sichuan 3:1 Beijing. So Shanxi will meet Sichuan in WT Final.

Kong Ling Xuan. If I remember correctly, he played that insanely long rally with Xu Xin in superleague. (NO) Played 3-4 with Koki Niwa in 2014. He has an insane forehand (like Fang Bo).

Kong Ling Xuan (sorry misspelled it earlier) is a 20 years old junior player who joined Team A in 2013. Not much results in International stage so far. Won MT, MD and XD in 2013 WJTTC.
