I recently twisted my right knee without feeling it at the time. Doctor told me to stop TT for 2 weeks, couldn't resist for more than a week. I could still feel a bit of pain.

I have seen a cardiologist very recently because I feel quite a lot my heart beating, which is uncomfortable and a bit worrying.
Sometimes, the pace is getting irregular for a very brief moment.
After an electrocardiogram, an echocardiography and a device monitoring the blood pressure for 24h, the specialist concluded everything fine and that I can keep playing table tennis.
However, I feel I need to take care because TT is clearly not the best sport for the heart.
I am taking hawthorn (a pill containing 100mg of dry extract) and I feel much better.
It might help you :)

Some people may had experience high metabolism that normally cause by high heart beat rate. This may because their body easily boost up the caffeine level. I have a colleague who used to be ordered that he could not take any coffee, at most only a cup of tea per day. However, he do not need to do any sport and still able to keep fit.

But after he took the drug for a year and he no longer experience this, he realized that now he easily gain weight lol

whats up guys ,this inactivity is a pain in the butt ,Doctors orders no exercise until he checks xrays and the rest of the tests, its been almos a month .seems like a year ,anybody has had this happen ?

Not that problem specifically. I had to take 6 weeks off after back surgery but I knew I would be able to play again in time. During that period I nearly went out of my mind.

I hope everything is ok for you. Best wishes and good luck.

Sorry to hear of your condition leading to a hiatus from table tennis. I know how you feel; I was out of commission from TT recently for almost 4 months from a partial patellar tendon tear. It was rough not being able to practice, sweat, compete and get that adrenaline rush.

I'm not a cardiologist but I've seen enough people with irregular heart rhythms (atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, atrial tachycardia, supraventricular tachycardia etc.) that continue to live an active lifestyle doing their favorite activities. So take heart and wait for all the test results to come back and see what your cardiologist says.

In the meantime you can always watch professional TT matches on Youtube and let some of their perfect techniques sink in a little. That's what I did when I was waiting for my tendon to heal. And I think it has helped my game some :)

Try to manage your routine better, table tennis may not seem like a hectic game but it does take its toll on the body. Heart, lungs, kidneys etc they all need to be in good shape in order to play good competitive table tennis, whether pro level, club level, whatever.
Get well soon Lucas. ir-regular heartbeat is serious stuff.

Hi, good day Lucas i hope you feel better today. I feel you, i experienced that issue last year i was forced to stop training for 6months. I had an abnormal ecg tracings i feel so wasted in just a few hours of training. Wverytime you feel you are very tired and wasted even without doin much.. that is the right tine to ruah yourself to the clinic for a quick ecg tracing coz that is the perfect time to catch an abnormal reading. To cut my story short after series of exams everythin turnout normal from cardio cholesterol pulmo laboratory exams etc.. except!!! It was my bad habit of takin in too much caffein everyday thats the one causing my bi-trigeminy abnormal tracings in ecg that i already had skip beats. Caffein helps me think sharp everyday. I had so much so i need to stop. From tea hotchocolates coffee sodas.. other caffeinated food..i have to withdraw everythin for about 5months. Now i am back to normal and doin intensity training again. Hope you feel better verysoon and everythin will be okay.
