Withdrew according to DTTB, our national federation. No reason given, so I'm assuming he either can't be arsed to defend his title or it's something serious that isn't meant for the public. Probably the latter.

It's so sad to see so many cancellations for arguably the biggest national event in a comparably tt-heavy nation...

Its common that there are a few withdrawls from any championchip due to injuries and other reasons but i think if we focus on the list of participants even more in advance of the world championchip it will be maybe the most interesting german championchips for decades. It s the first time since 2013 i think since boll and ovtcharo´v both signed upfor the event and we can see how timo is doing after his injury against dima and the german top 100players. Even more intresting will be the results of the other players like walther, Filus, Mengel and Duda who are fighting for the last ticket for the worlds singles event held in düsseldorf this year, as rosskopf mentioned that he made out a system to gather points through national and international events, and here we ll definetly have the clash of one of these players in comparison to the international events where theres always a huge impact on the draws how far someone could get.

So all in all i think theres no need for disappointment on that event even more cause steger and Franziska already got their wcc tickets as they were in the olympic team who has the guarantee from rosskopf to play in the singles event.

Unfortunately I can't watch but im looking forward to the live stream. Anybody any opinion who will take it. I hope for Timo but in general I think Ovtcha will take it cause he's played many more matches last 2-3 months than Timo. Also seeing forward for Bene Duda to make an upset, he s working so hard and is getting better so fast the last 18 months.

greets to y all

The streaming will start in a couple of minutes. (local time: 13:00)

There should be a winners tournament of each Nationals. Would be a cool event!

I agree. I think in former times European singles Championships and World singles Championships used to be like that and only National Champions were qualified to participate.

Streaming requires a German IP Address... be sure to use a VPN like "hola" to avoid the ban
