CNT Warm-up Matches Before WTTC May 13-14

CNT has scheduled warm-up matches on the last two days of the closed training for WTTC. Players who do not play in WTTC will imitate non-CNT rivals and give the core players some challenges.

And why do they play doubles where nobody is actually playing in wttc ?

Unlike women's team, men's team has not shown the imitator list in public. But Yu Ziyang and Shang Kun are known to imitate Timo Boll for years.

Imitators of Miu Hirano: Sun Yingsha, Wang Manyu, Chen Xingtong, Liu Ming
Imitators of Feng Tianwei: Feng Yalan, Gu Ruochen, Wang Yidi
Imitators of Kasumi Ishikawa: Gu Yuting, Chen Ke

Ma Long/Timo Boll, Fan Zhendong/Xu Xin will play doubles in WTTC and Fang Bo/Petrissa Solja will play mixed doubles.

I think you're right, ajtatosmano2.

Wang Xi used to imitate Joo Sae Hyuk back when JSH was a serious threat for the CNT.
Although JSH still plays extraordinary well he's not that much threatening to the CNT than he used to be.
Generally i think this is a very professional preparation for the upcoming competitions.
But i wouldn't be surprised if the German team also has a few practice partners imitating the styles of some CNT players.

Yeah that whole "clone" myth is far from reality. One can only simulate a player not play exactly like him

Shang kun is a top notch server and he helped zhang jike before rio by simulating serves 3rd ball attacks and opening shots in general like koki niwa and chen chien an do because they knew he would face them most likely, as it happened

XX (70%) vs LGY (70%) is the same as if they play 100%. I am not sure if XX wanted to lose this one anyway. Even ZJK looked very focused and pumped up in his match. May be ML/FZD were playing below their usual levels.
