I can't consider ML old yet. He's had a strange past 6 months, not sure how regularly he's been practicing. He seems to be doing more "ZJK stuff" with promotions than before. Hopefully it's temporary. Yes fatherhood changes things probably as well.

ML looked spent, FZD as fresh as ever. Getting old, becoming a father or just lacking motivation?

I am not surprised at all that ML lost to FZD again in CTTSL today. They met in team events (CTTSL or National Games or Championships) for 9 times before today and the h2h is FZD 7-2 ML (ML's last win is in 2014). When they faced each other in team event, it was almost all at 4th set and ML's team losing 1-2. Age, pressure, morale...may accelerate the defeat.

And don't forget that ML is still in recovery after the therapy in Germany last Nov. He has to play a lot 4th set in CTTSL this season because the average level of Team Tianjin is so-so. ML missed the first round but now is ranked #2 in CTTSL (17 wins, 3 losses) and FZD #3 (15 wins, 4 losses).

Edit: LGY is ranked #1 in CTTSL with 16 wins and 2 losses. All the 7 top tier players this season are ranked #1-7 after today's match. And among them, ML played the most matches although he missed the first round.

ML looked spent, FZD as fresh as ever. Getting old, becoming a father or just lacking motivation?
