Maze was indeed going to play the tournament - according to the Danish federation website not because he was making an international come back, but because he wanted to help the Danish team's ranking.

He has now withdrawn from the event . Maybe because he found out about the new World ranking system for 2018...?

That is what I heard, but major bommer that he withdraw from the event. Perhaps he saw that Anton Kallberg was participating as well and realized that he couldn't win the tournament.

11 CNT players are through to the preliminary stage tomorrow!

      Men's Singles

Liang Jingkun vs (Romain Lorentz or Darko Jorgic)
Zhou Yu vs (Robert Gardos or Han Chaunxi, POL)
Liu Dingshuo vs Park Jeongwoo (next round: vs Simon Berglund)

      Women's Singles

      Gu Yuting vs Adriana Diaz
      Li Xiaodan vs Zeng Jian
      Zhang Qiang vs Suh Hyowon
      Chen Ke vs Yang Haeun
      Li Jiayi vs Chen Szu-Yu
      Zhang Rui vs Yu Fu
      Chen Xingtong vs Viktoria Pavlovich
      Sun Mingyang vs Suthasini Sawettabut

Do you think that they will all make it to the main draw? Or will there be more "CNT casualties" already?

Zhang Qiang should lose unless she is very strong vs defense.

Li Jiayi can lose as well but that is lower.

The rest should be safe. Sawettabutt has the talent but not the composure or experience.
