Well, there’s one way in which they might be half right: can you get more spin out of Karis than more typical rubbers at the upper extreme? (What I have in mind is the short pimples: I don’t generate nearly enough spin to benefit from that, but AFAIK, in theory, the Chinese style short pimples + standard/thicker outer sheet should be able to withstand higher forces without collapsing than eg t05 style pimples. Is that the case in your experience?
