Practice shadow footwork drills and ladder footwork drills.

Ladder footwork: particularly the ones that start at 3:45 #7 and on.

Sometimes I do the same footwork drills without the ladder. :)

And shadow footwork drills:

Practice these without the ball: You don't need a table either:

And then mix them up and improvise:

Practicing short push and third ball attack:

How to improve your footwork?

1. Get your stance right - feet at least shoulder width apart, flex in knees, lean forwards at waist
2. Get you weight on the front of your feet, rather than your heels
3. Commit to playing with your feet, e.g. move to the ball, rather than reaching
4. Do regular footwork drills, where you know where the ball is going
5. Do irregular footwork drills, where the pattern is more random

Start your drills at a slower pace. When you feel your footwork has improved, speed up the drills.

I'll make a video of this at some point next year. I'll add to my list.

The last part of 1 is connected to number 2. Leaning forward is what gets the weight into the balls of the foot (front of foot). :)

Absolutely. And it's important to get these both right. You can do all the footwork exercises in the world, but if you are too upright and stuck on your heels, it's always going to feel a bit of a struggle to move quickly.

From Ilia's link to an older thread, some of my posts.
Maybe you can find them somewhat useful.

No doubt. I don't question that at all. Just a different perspective and different philosophy.

Here a couple of drills regarding footwork.

Thigh training german u23 National Team:

Same training - different vid
:)

Workout for explosiveness in footwork

German women's National Team workout.

I think the effectivity and motivation behind this is pretty obvious

Since you seemed to like the vids, I´ve found two more from the German women´s team.

Wan Guohui almost has the same ballfeeding-speed like the famous ZJK Coach...

The second one is from 2013 but.....
Apolonia´s wife looks pretty stunning in her fancy workout dress.

Awesome challenge! Think i have to try that too. hope i don´t break my back...

Here are two more multiball drills. This time Kilian Ort and Sabine Winter. In the second vid they change positions.

Maybe a little belated.
But I just found the vid.

Put your weight on your toes instead of on your heels for speedier movement. Also try to stay lower to the ground.
