Have you missed the carbon blades "Carbonado", which are used by most of the female top players? I think the Nostalgic blades looks good but I will probably stick with my Clipper.
I think I have. Feel free to fill me in. What's new with Carbonado after filtering out all the gimmicks, a supercharged AC?

It's mentioned in an article Stiga had thought about using Kiri for the core, but decided against it after testing and players feedback. That's really unfortunate.

Most if not all their new models since forever have been reusing the basic constructions from AC, OC and Clipper with various endangered species as top ply.

The only info I have currently is of the Nostalgic 7:

wenge - spruce - ayous - ayous -ayous - ayous - wenge

So it's not symmetrical blade after all. Not sure about the other two blades. And that it's a heavy blade at 95gr +/- 5gr, with 5.6mm thickness.

I'll have all three in my hands in a couple of days. Got them shipped with express delivery before I leave China.

Well, one of them is ayous for the second layer...

But is marketing hype blunder since the top is changed to wenge thus they shouldn't said modeled after Clipper anyway...

I actually was going to pass on buying until I found out the asymmetrical composition (and got the other two as well) then have them expressly shipped so I get them on time...

Impulse buy...

Nostalgic 7 looks symmetrical to me. The Stiga synopsis appears to count the plies from the center, which would make sense.

Got some ads for the Nostalgic 7.
Kind of contradicting message if looking at the photos.

One photo showing the break down of the 7 layers and written Spruce on second layer and Ayous for the sixth layer. Could be a typo.

The rest of the photos showing symmetrical layers and also use of Spruce for both side as the second layers.

I know for sure when the blades arrive and will post the actual blades photos.

Perfect blunder to drive customers away.

For the Nostalgic series, we have chosen to build each blade using the same brilliant yet simple and timeless middle veneers and thicknesses used in the three STIGA classics. This creates a core feeling and balance quick to recognize and easy to handle.

The Nostalgic VII is a 7-ply blade build with the same hand selected middle and second layer veneers used in the Clipper Wood, however for the outer veneer we use a hard yet elastic natural wood called “Wenge”.

Just happened to be in China again for another launching of Stiga blade (again), this time the Nostalgic series.

I was going to pass on the series until I happened to come across an ad for the Nostalgic VII which gives the asymmetrical composition of wenge-spruce-ayous-ayous-ayous-ayous-wenge.

Here’s the culprit ad: translation in red

Without further checking I rushed to order and have it shipped express before I leave China and miss the blades. I decided to get the three only without the two Azalea blades. Afterward I decided that most likely its a typo since the photos of the blade in question showing symmetrical composition. Doh!

Anyway, the blades arrived today and I gave them a quickie shoot with my phone while I still have some daylight left.

Most of them posted as is without color editing to preserve their real look somewhat. Due to bad lighting and hand shakes some I added a bit brightening and sharpening (some wings photos) to make it easier for inspection.

Here they are:

Wow... I just noticed that another coincidence happened. Some of you know that I post blades photo every Sunday on my instagram. This time, I was planning my instagram post for the whole month while I’m in China. At the last minutes (hours before my flight) I decided to shoot several Yinhe blades.

Just happened that tonight’s post was planned to be Yinhe’s Wenge blade I got years ago. One out of four Yinhe wenge’s series, if I’m not mistaken. Didn’t even occur to me until it was time to post it on instagram a few minutes ago. Ha!

Well, since I’m still in China, I don’t have the Yinhe’s blade on me for direct physical comparison.

Anyway, here’s the blade...
