According to women's head coach Li Sun, the best U21 will get a spot, similar to men's.

After the trial, CNT will start closed training in preparation for 2018 WTTTC. Women's team will go to Huangshi, the same training center for 2017 WTTC.

Men's team will go to Xiaman, the same training center for 2016 OG.

In Mar 17 women's 5th round, CM beat SYS and WMY beat WY. Both won all 5 and got the top 2 places without playing the last two rounds. The first place was decided between CM and WMY and CM won.

It is speculated that 10 players who attended the WTTTC trial were selected based on their internal rankings. However, no ranking list or ranking rule was released.

Another trial for ITTF World Tour was taking place at the same time. 10 players attended, including Lai Jiaxin, Ma Te, Niu Guankai, Ren Hao, Xia Yizheng, Xu Chenhao, Zhang Yudong, Zhao Zihao, Zheng Peifeng and Zhu Linfeng.

It remains unclear why Yu Ziyang was not selected for both trials.

(1) The current men's coach team head WJP was talking to all 10 players on the last day. Although not officially announced, QZJ and M Lin are no longer in CNT. Current CNT men's coaches are WJP, LGZ, WH, Ma Junfeng and Liu Heng.

It is said that 1st-4th place will earn chance to play World Tour (which one not specified): Ma Te, Zheng Peifeng, Zhu Linfeng, Zhao Zihao (order not specified).

CNT closed training (Mar 18-Apr 17) has started, men's team (5 CNT coaches + 31 A/B/provincial team players) in Xiamen and women's team (5 CNT coaches + 34 A/B/provincial team players ) in Huangshi. Each team has 3 new foreign physical coaches as well.
A warm-up tournament will be held in Huangshi from Apr 13 to 16 for both teams. CNT will leave for Sweden on Apr 21 and have a week for adjusting jet-lag and training.

Ok guys ... CNT has already started its closed training with lots of sparing partners, and coaches etc. as mentioned by Raineverever, while Europe still has Champions League games like Apr 06th and i.e. Polish super league has matches on Apr 17th!

In terms of the preparation I dear to say Europe has already gave up competing with China altogether. I'm being tempted to say, that I should restrain myself from watching any of China vs EU Country matches ... it just makes less and less sense. I'll probably watch it, but with little emotions really ...

NextLevel, but what is wrong, with me expressing my frustration, that since I started watching table tennis, besides Singapore Women 2010 in Moscow, virtually every team had no chance against CNT? ... and it was basically 0:3 each time ...
