Don't forget Ma Long just became the record-setting fifth-time winner of the German Open and the winner of the Chinese Super League. Hopefully, his mind problems will sort themselves out so he can be totally happy with his new victories.I think Ma Long after 25 years in table tennis has worse condition and his mind is out of the table

Ma Long the champ!
In a new but gut-wrenching jersey? What else is new?
That might not be a shirt on Ma Long, it might be us seeing his golden dragon wings folded on his shoulders and his dragon scales all over. (and his scowl is hunger for a lamb or a calf or at least a roast duck)In a new but gut-wrenching jersey?
LGL has commented European players don't push themselves enough. Gatien held a similar view for his young countrymen, that they don't train hard enough.
which boils down to life priorities, not that they are "lazy". Why dedicate your whole life for something that will doubtly give you back the rewards you need or like, not everyone wants to , or tries to be no1
No this was when he was younger as well. The speculation was that he was always injured and that this limited his practice. But the other viewpoint was that he just didn't enjoy training.
But China is talking internally about do this? Cause maybe it's not usually common for other countries athletes do these in table tennis, but for pretty much every sport I know people do "home" study to dedicate themselves to the sport they practice, gymnastics, figure skaters are two I can give example. So if not, I can't imagine this gap been too much smaller, too be honest even if it happens.I think that the gap between CNT and the rest of the World will become much closer when it will become unacceptable to drop out out of school in teenage years.
Of course Chinese teen players do school/home study even after they decide to be a pro, join provincial team and join CNT. They even go to college, well, a lot of people here don't believe and think that's just a fake diploma. I bet they don't learn calculus and theory of relativity but they really don't have to.But China is talking internally about do this? Yeah, I know, some of them even study abroad, or intend to, like Ding Ning said in some interviews. I didn't mean to say otherwise of what you just said, I tried to point out that the gap "problem" between CNT and other countries has nothing to do with going to regular school. But I guess I did a bad job LOLOf course Chinese teen players do school/home study even after they decide to be a pro, join provincial team and join CNT. He did not enjoy training, especially the physical side of it ... from one of his ex teammates , and they think thats why he got injured .. what do you think about ML's close to the table footwork and XX 's over the table forehand today .. seemed like both were below par ...
The new ball is very hard to get moving so both players are still figuring out their optimal strategies. But even more importantly, they had a match to play in an hour or so after the final as a team. Knowing them, they probably agreed to just play their best but not to the death and save their efforts to make sure there was no quarter granted in the doubles final.
