Ok, thanks for answering. Depending on how you both play, it's not big enough a difference that he can't outpace you if he is good enough. Again, it's hard to know without seeing you play. But keep on trying!!

Age really has very little to do with skill or aptitude.

If a 12 year old has more training and/or better training than a 15 year old, the 12 year old could be at a totally different level even if they both have similar potentials. TT is so much a sport that is about training and developing skills. To get to a really high level you need high level coaching.

I remember watching a video of Dan playing an 11 year old from China and getting thrashed. And Dan is a fairly decent level player.

How many times have you played this kid? Have you won any of the matches? In the first match (the first time you played him), were you nervous to start? Or did you become nervous when you saw he was close and could actually win?

Then ignore eveything written here. None of it will help. Just know that TT doesn't matter. It is the least important thing you will do today and nobody cares if you win or lose. Also not many people think it's cool. Chicks don't dig it. Chances are in two years you will quit playing.

That attitude will probably help you win but only if you understand that that outcome is just as meaningless as if you lose.

TT is for losers. To get chicks you need to play some kind of music instruments; fo example, guitar. Ha ha I got my wife and couple GF's for my guitar playing, not my lousy pathetic TT skill.
