HyperTouch, my weapon for next season

Hey guys,

A friend of mine gave me his Adidas HyperTouch and I put two Rhyzer rubbers on it. For backhand, 43 and for forehand 48. The blade is 85 grams with straight handle, which is 3 grams less than average 88, so on the lighter side. With rubbers on, it’s 178 grams.

So far, I tried it in practice once, and all I can say about it is that it’s amazing. The speed and spin generated by this setup is simply awesome, but the thing that I really liked was the soft feeling of the blade. Doing loops with this setup is just super easy. I didn’t need to adjust my stroke at all transitioning from Powerwood+Rasant setup I had previously. The short game is also very good. I thought I would lose some control moving from the slower setup, but the fact is the only area of my game that needed some adjustment was passive blocking. All in all, I’m looking forward to playing more with this setup.

And still plenty fast for me! On a second thought though, it can be the Rhyzer as well that is super fast.

One thing I noticed today was that this setup performs very differently with celluloid balls. It’s quite uncontrollable for me when playing with celluloid, and most of my shots were really off.

I'm not sure about that, but Donic Persson Carbotec is actually a very similar composition. I've never played with it though. If you are in Europe, you can still buy Hypertouch from here: http://www.tafeltennis.be/shop/hypertouch
