I got the feeling that the ABS balls affect players with Chinese rubbers a lot more than the Tenergy users.

Amazing stuff, incredible. Harimoto had no troubles on Ma Long serve, he could attack quite often with his backhand. Big difference to the Lin Gaoyuan game where he couldn't properly return. Also Ma Long had big troubles on Harimoto serve.

He felt the pressure of Harimoto's speed. This puts Zhang Jike's loss and Lin Gaoyuan's wins in a whole new light.

Hmmm. Harimoto got smacked and made to cry by Pitch, who thrashed him 3-0 twice in the space of about a month. Malong is getting old, he is a dad, and TT is no longer his priority imho.

You can see the declining FH power of ML, XX and FZD quite clearly with the new ABS ball. Harimoto, Boll and other top Jap players don't seem to be affected much.

From a physics POV it makes sense based on the type of rubber they use.

Nonetheless, this win would have given Hari and the entire JNT a huge boost in confidence. They will train even harder to dethrone the Chinese in 2020 Tokyo Olympic.

Sadly only FZD has the ability and consistency to safeguard the Chinese dominance. None of the younger CNT males are good enough to make to the top. Wang Chuqin might have hope depending on how he develops. Liang Jingkun's game is so predictable in BH.
