If you don't want to unfriend them, simply ignore them. You are not playing for them, you play for yourself. What they think doesn't matter.

Upon further reflection. Unfriend them. They are to unsophisticated and ignorant of the ways of the world to be your friend (since they have never seen Hugo Caldarano play on TV???).

The easiest way is have them watch 2500+ level players practice in person.

Video never conveys the power, athleticism, and speed of the game.

Even I was surprised at the power of two 2800 level players at the teams...

Lubomir Jankaric (sp?) vs the chopper from the French team... breathtaking.

Hello guys!

So, some of my friends don't want to accept the fact that table tennis is a sport.
It's quite annoying.
How can I convince them that it is?
Does it happen to anyone else here?

Thanks.
If you don't care about their opinions, don't even bother.

If you do care, show them how professional TT players train and ask yoir friends to do the same. Let's see how long they can last.

Passionate about TT

Bring cheerleaders to cheer for you... that ought to convince them... if not, at least they realize you are the more successful guy.

That could count for a lot.

Tell them football isn't a sport (should hit home given your location), it's just 20 sweaty men kicking the ball about. Ask them to counter your statement and when they inevitably end up referring to the specific athletic qualities needed to play football you can point to each one being equally important in table tennis. Fine motor skills, agility, strength, explosive strength, reaction time, stamina - you name it.

... or give em the pro's in slow motion (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZ9nKEFSib8 ), maybe they'll realize it'll still be faster than us in real time;)
