What did I miss? In the 3rd set (something like 7-0 or 8-0 Ning) Hirano hit the white corner of the table and Ding Ning was unable to hit the ball back, but it looks like Ding Ning was awarded the point. Why?

Harimoto over Zhou 4-2 in the quarters. Fought back from 1-2 with some clever tactical play, especially getting his banana flick going by pulling Zhou in on the short forehand to set it up. Also drove him crazy with top and underspin variation on the reverse pendulum. Not the kind of tactical resourcefulness you expect from a 15 year old, but then Harimoto isn't normal.

Love the Aussie commentators, maybe the best I've heard.

The Japanese team is impressive as always except for the uniforms. They looked like striped pajamas.

I don't know if it's just my observation. I notice in the past, China just had the same coach Liu Guoliang going flying with the same team around the world. These days a different coach is there for almost every tournament.

I wonder if this new system affects how Chinese players perform.
