I think you'll find that they are American. Trump wouldn't let them in if they were Asian

    Women's QF results

    China Japan 3-0
    Singapore - Korea 1-3
HK - India 3-1 ---> was a tighter match than it seems
    Taipei - PRK 1-3

As expected Japan is out without any glory, losing against China isn't a disaster, but they met China in QF because they lost to PRK in group phase, which should not have happened with their A team.

    Men's QF
Japan is down 0-2 against India, Gnanasekaran beats Ueda 3-0 and Achanta beats Matsudaira 3-0
a subpar performance from the Japanese B team and the exit is really near now...

some heads are gonna roll when they get back, there's need for some hara-kiri

    China - HK 3-0 , all matches were 3-0
    Taipei - Iran 3-0
South Korea - North Korea in progress 1-1, LEE Sangsu lost to AN Jisong (!!) 2-3 !!!

Yoshida wins his match against Desai but Kenta Matsudaira loses 3-1 to Gnanasekaran. His good Bulgarian Open was just an illusion. Its a total disaster for the JNT...

    both Koreas are 2-2

Indians are an improved bunch. Sometime back ( dont remember which tournament) they put up a brave fight against JNT A team. Sharat Kamal is a maverick player. On his day he can blast anyone. Well done indeed. I could nor imagine 2-3 years back that a team like India can beat Japan in a major event. Kudos to people who are managing and improving TT in India.

yes INDIA beat France in WTTC for example. They are underrated as a team. But Japan performance is really shit. Kenta has always disappointed in the JNT and i hope he won't be called again. Ueda did well for Japan at the World Cup, giving the win against Korea, and deserved his spot, but this match shows why he shouldn't be called again.

I don't understand why Japan chose this team. If they couldn't get the A team, they should have chosen the promising very young players instead. It made no sense at all to put this team.

The real loser is kenta Matsudaira . He wasnt fit for these games , At least oshima yuya could be in Jakarta instead of him

They should have sent the young gun Harimoto. Or are they saving him for Olympics ?? AFAIK, getting medals at Asians amd Olympics are high on national agenda for Japan / China.

Yeah but when they dont send their top player , At least they should select well prepared players . For sure Japan didnt send this team for losing but both men and women ' result were disappointing .

Acutaly India has beaten Japan more than once before (back in and it'd good on them that they won as many other countries won't stand a chance against this Japan.

I agree on sending junior players though. Uda, Kidukuri and even Matsushima would've been a good experience for them.
