FB has great technique but again comes up short. He lacks "cleverness", if that makes any sense.

Liang Jingkun is also noted for lacking cleverness and has better technique and power than Fang Bo. In the end you are what you are.
The presence of coaching at these events makes the cleverness less of a factor and technical differences become more critical.

but if LGY in awaken mode it's hard to say, not considering may be any other dark horse...
This is exactly why I said top players play scared in tournaments like this. Their advantages accumulated through years of competition are greatly diminished due to availability of on-site coaching for young players. For international tournaments, it’s another matter - no coaching is allowed if Chinese players are playing against each other.
