This is a blade with a usual inner fiber construction, but using a different type of Aramid-Carbon. Typically I use AC with both fibers running in both directions, as this gives a balance between their properties. With AxC we only have Aramid running in the horizontal direction, and Carbon running vertically. The goal is to achieve a softer touch, but higher stiffness when compared to my normal AC.

Available FS.

Composition: Limba / Ayous / AxC / Ayous / AxC / Ayous / Limba
Weight: 83.3g
Thickness: 5.8mm
Freq.: 1356Hz
Balance: 2.4cm (Low)

Let's take this last blade as an example, basically the same composition and thickness, but with a Koto outer ply which is stiffer than Limba. This would make the blade stiffer overall, and with a higher frequency, but the measurement is the same for both. This tells me that the AC layer on the Limba blade is adding more stiffness than the AC layer on the Koto blade.

what about the softer touch ? Also goal achieved through adding limba ?

How does that feel, the Hinoki with the Kevlar and the Spruce? That would be interesting to try. Also, how fast is it?

The feeling is very good, not too soft (it feels more direct than the "usual" Kiso hinoki), but also not hard.
Speed is a clear Off in my eyes, a little bit too much for me and my game.
If you are interested, I could sell it to you. In this case contact me with PM.

You may have seen this handle on a previous blade, and you are right. Well, it seems that blade was not flight proof 😅, but it was a shame to let the handle cups go to waste so I used them here. The blade itself shares some traits with a Freitas ALC, although this is a light specimen so power will be a bit diminished.

Available FS.

Composition: Limba / A-C/ Ayous / Kiri / Ayous / A-C / Limba
Weight: 82.2g
Thickness: 5.9mm
Freq.: 1400Hz
Balance: 2.7cm (Low)

hi,
you probably missed my last question on post #984

Oh, I did, sorry.

Yes, the touch is softer, compared to other inner A-C blades with limba outer I had here.

I was never a big fan of Donic style handles, but I mostly used their blades until I started making my own, so here's my homage with 13 different wood species and a senso milling. The blade is a classic Off-, Limba / Limba composition, with the aid of 200 g/m2 glassfiber, which doesn't provide a big speed increase, but helps with the sweetspot while retaining a woody feel.

Composition: Limba / GF200/ Limba / Kiri / Limba / GF200 / Limba
Weight: 91.2g
Thickness: 5.7mm
Freq.: 1270Hz
Balance: 3.0cm (Med)
