So the official ball is the Nittaku Premium.. Maybe it's a good thing Filus is not playing in the singles. This is one of the worst 40+ balls for defense.

Truls defeated Drinkhall 4-1. I presume 2 go through the group?

Will the main draw get announced tonight?

According to the ITTF's report, first in the group goes through and then there's a lottery. 18 second placed players are drawn at random from the total of 23. Not sure when that takes place though.

I'm attending the Euro champs in Alicante :)

Arrived late last night, just in time to watch Timo and Dima practice.

Today I was at the venue from start to finish (and plan to do the same until the end of the tournament). Ran from one hall to another in an attempt to catch as much of the action as possible.

Out of all that I saw, Samuel Walker was the most impressive. Really clean match against Pletea and won easily in doubles as well.

Hope for an epic tournament with Boll winning :)

Drinkhall did not make the lucky draw. Time for him and Liam in doubles to shine..

You're right there. Paul could win the event on his day. Qual rounds are dangerous

Paul and Liam have just squeaked through in the doubles as well! The level of competition seems very high these days. Lots of upward pressure from the younger generation.
