How do you score this point ?

Hi All,

An unusual situation developed in a rally last night, but no-one knew how to score the point from this situation......

Player A is attacking the ball and hitting repeated smashes. Player B is returning the ball repeatedly but one return goes a bit "odd" (maybe a knuckle or handle contact or something). So the return player B has hit goes high, returns successfully to Player A's side of the table but seems to have generated a lot of backspin, so the ball comes back to his own side of the table too.

here is the question bit....

What then happened was player A runs at the net down the side of the table and hits the ball back onto Player B's side of the table, but Player A's point of contact with the ball was past the net and physically (his body) was on player B's side of the table.

I know the ball can go around the net and be legal, but I have only ever seen this with the player firmly on his own side of the table.

How would you score this particular situation ?

Thanks.
