I dont remember the last time U.S.A. got a TT Olympics medal of any kind. So , well done Kanak Jha. Irrespective of what haters might say, but, Kanak's level has surely increased since I last saw him play 1 year back. Lin Yun-Ju is extremely capable opponent drawing praise from whos who of TT. So the bronze match would give Kanak lot of confidence for the future. Keep training hard !!!

last time, lily won gold
Kanak has improved a lot, Sweden is doing him lots of good
I feel so sad to see Lin loose both matches like that, I guess the coaching staff are still busy fixing the issue still :(
Both these will be Top 20/30 soon

Hirano still blacks out whenever she gets a sizeable lead, and on her own serve. 3rd and 4th games drifted away that way.

I think HARIMOTO choked today. WANG CQ played very very well of course, but that put extra pressure on HARIMOTO who thought he was the favourite and it affected his playstyle and mentality. He was "afraid" of losing.

HARIMOTO FH flick was not functioning at all today, usually its a great weapon for him. WCQ has to do with that, but I think HARIMOTO was far from his best level.

I'm less worried of that defeat for his future than for HIRANO. Not a surprise for her loss, but she's getting too much used to losing now, and her confidence will reach new lows unfortuntely. She needs to break this downwards spiral

I think the issue is bigger than just “choked”. It’s frustrating to see him Play the way he did. He’s too young, too talented to be content with one style of playing - close to the table fast counter. Where is movement around the ball? How about move to the backhand side and use your core for a forehand kill? You can see WCQ floating around and constantly looking for openings.
i don’t blame the kid, but his team can certainly do better. Tokyo game is coming, not much time left
