Nah - to beat Fan, you can't just block. He is the most consistent and powerful player I have ever seen. You need to make him use his short forehand out of sequence. Vladi would do better vs Ma Long than Fan.

FZD says he could control the pace better and perhaps make some tweaks. He also points out that Samsonov is a player to look up to and the tactics he uses is inspiring.

Yes, lots of positive points for Niwa, he just lost focus too often on critical points. The two lazy points at 1-2, 9-9 were the most telling.

I fell asleep half way through. Most boring QF.

Harimoto's FH fix holding up pretty well. Was trailing behind from the get go until 4:8.

Boll in best-ever form this year.

Harimoto has a slight upper hand in the short game. 10:8, that edge couldn't come at a better time for Boll, 10:10, 11:13.

It was a very spectacular game , Also timo's victory made it more enjoyable . Really I dont know if harimoto will get better than this or not but he played really well vs timo . If he gets better he's gonna be a Monster for sure .....

I’m in disbelief. I’ve never seen Timo played so aggressive before. He moves as better as anytime in his career at 36 years age. What a pleasant surprise!

Harimoto will have many more fans if he stops the yelling between points. It’s so annoying. Happy to see Timo win. He’s always a gentleman.
