The October World Rankings have been released with some notable changes!

The new October World Rankings are in with some new changes. One in particular is Liam Pitchford who in recent times has had some formidable wins over the likes of Ma Long and Dimitrij Ovtcharov. His new world ranking stands at 23! Ma Long drops to number 6, Timo moves back up to number 2, Lin Gaoyuan hits a career high of 3 and Fan Zhendong retains his world number 1 status!

Not a single chopper in the mens top 30!?

*sorry, saw filus there -- one made it! But hes only half a defender...

Looks to be 4 or 5 in the womens, more diversity more fun to watch ;)

The first four women in this list of notable jumps in the women's list are as a result of both 2017 and 2018 Women's World Cups being valid for one month. They overlap because it was held in October last year and September this year. Those players will rebound downwards in the October list, along with other players present in both WWCs who didn't outdo their 2017 position with this year's result. I haven't checked yet, but Lay Jian Fang is likely among the highest ranked Australians in history. It's not particularly accurate with the WWC points overlapping like this, a rule change is needed to limit World Cup results to 1 per 12 months or expiring upon next WWC attendance.
