It depends. Some players prefer harder woods while others like the feeling of softer woods. It also depends on the weight that your trying to achieve with your blade.

Also what is the best wood for making handle out of

My advice would be to invest significant time reading those threads. Most of the answers you'll need are there. There's a wealth of experience and expertise in there, as well as a few mistakes to learn from! If you are new to woodwork start with balsa cores and softwood handles as they are cheaper and therefore not an issue if you make a mistake. Also do you have templates as this is often half the battle to making decent looking blades. There's quite a lot skills needed to make blades, it's not easy at first but it's definitely worthwhile and before you know it you'll be addicted. Like all the best hobbys, it takes time to develop the skills and understanding, and you need determination, but the rewards are great. I'd also leave carbon for a while as it's more difficult than wood to use and cut, it can be quite expensive too and will blunt your cutters quite quickly. Get a 4 or 5mm sheet of balsa, four sheets of mahogany veneer, have the middle at 90 degrees and use pu glue and you'll have a very playable blade for a few pounds. Add a simple basswood or pine handle and then develop from there.
