Who's your favorite player of the 80's and/or 90's????

Jiang Jialiang in the 80s and Wang Liqin in the 90s. In the early 80s, we didn't get much coverage from the European tabletennis scene. We know about Waldner, Gergely, Persson and such, but there weren't enough. Since we are so much closer to China, I grew up watching and learning from the Chinese players and even my coach was an ex-chinese national player and former no2 in the world, Li Fujong.

As a result, most players in my era have the Chinese style of play, while the younger generations adopted the more European style.

hmm I used to watch a tonne of table tennis from that era when I started playing, apart from Waldner the obvious I also liked Gatien and Primorac. Gatien because he was a fantastic left hander and Primorac because he just had so much energy lol

I started playing in the 90's so i don't really know about 80"s players beside Jaques Secretin

I don't think its appropriate to think of WLQ as a 90's player. The prime was firmly in the 2000's. I consider KLH, LGL, Wang Tao, L. Guozheng etc more as the core "90's" Chinese team...
