If one clicks on "best 8 results", one can see how skewed this ranking is.

Can't wait for Jan when they realign the point allocations to a much more fairer distribution

Not quite sure what you mean. The top 12 are still the top 12. Nine of those are exactly the same as before; one is a shift by one position (Harimoto from 6 to 5), which means only two significant changes - basically Calderano and Ovtcharov have swapped places. Lower down, large movements are par for the course. Am I missing something here?

Can you explain what is skewed?
Looking at the "Final Pos." there, the ranking seems very logical.

I'm sure I don't need to retype everything - you can just go read the 2 big threads on how the world ranking points are currently calculated.

      Lol that is ridiculous.

Their problem is they tried to copy tennis ranking principles without considering that tennis has 4 world championships a year and about 10 mini worlds which all the top players play. Nothing similar exists in the TT tour and it needs a totally different approach. The amount of points available for just turning up for seeds now is insane, the reward for winning almost non existent.

Well, badminton switched to the ATP system in 2007 and their "World Tour" was known as the BWF Super Series, now known as the BWF World Tour. It works great for them despite the players complaining about burnouts.

But seriously, many people in HK were excited to see the home-grown WCT crack the top 100, then top 50, then top 20, and finally top 10 a few years back. He was stuck in the top 50 for a year and then the top 20 for another year before landing in the top 10.

I could understand the excitement for Pitchford here. He started at 79 and ended at 16 in 2018. That's a big jump.
