I had the old Genesis when it was on clearance. Bad rubber. I have no interest in using Genesis 2. The originally Genesis is clearly made in China by DHS for Stiga. The sponge. The printing pretty much gave it away. So DHS managed, with old Genesis, to create a rubber that is both sponcy (ESN like) but yet without much tackiness (very un-DHS like). I did not like the rubber at all as a result. Look, if you are going to sell the rubber for $15 a piece, sure, I will buy it. But if you price it like $40 a piece, I expect German or Japanese quality.
