WHY do we select WHAT for equipment when a player begins TT? What's a "Right" answer?

I wonder if choices are based on the coaches preferences/experience with the rubbers they select. If your student uses a rubber that you understand well, and you could effectively use the rubber/blade yourself and gauge your own performance as a litmus test for consistency, it would be easier to identify/adjust your student's play as well, no?

I don't coach. I'm not 2k+ rated. But I volunteer and teach students often. I find for me, the best way to get across to my students is to understand my frame of reference, and then shift it over to my students, so they can see from the same perspective.

What level is Div 3 & 4 of Korea in the USA ?

City/Regional Divisions approximate ranges estimated below. Almost every amateur male player is Div 4 or Div 5. Only 10% are in Div 1 or Div 2

Hope Division - "hope" to crack USATT 1000 level and get to Div 5
Div 5 - 1000-1500 USATT
Div 4 - 1300-1800 USATT
Div 3 - 1700-2000 USATT
Div 2 - 1900-2100 USATT
Div 1 - 2000-2300 USATT

What level is Div 3 & 4 of Korea in the USA ?

A match from a club tourney.

The larger dude in Tibhar red is Div 4 city level. His opponent is Div 1, he coughs up a 4 pt handicap.

No one recognize the J-Pen Div 1 Player (with LP OX on the backside of his J-Pen?

That is Jeong Hae Chul, the father of Korea National Team member Jung Young Sik.
