maybe I am case junkie, but I have 4 cases:
-butterfly aluminium case -as it was said before, definitely the most protective and the only case that 100% protects the balls (cause the balls are the most important
) from squishing them then packing/overpacking. Never understood people who carried balls in the top pocket of racket shaped fabric cases...
-I have Tibhar semi-hard case (same kind as
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Blu...Case-Waterproof-Table-Tennis/32858467252.html ). These are made from compressed (polyurethane?) foam, so it's not a hard case, but somewhat more rigid (usually headphone cases are made using the same method). It can be squished if you overpack your bag. Good thing is it can fit two rackets
-I have another semi-hard case (I think by Donic) with foam in it (like in an aluminum case), but the case is huge and only for one racket
-I have a rectangular fabric case for 2 rackets. It's the smallest, but least protective. Plus there is no place for the balls. So i have to carry a separate tube for balls...
So depending on the moon I use either aluminum hard case, or simple rectangular double fabric case. Neither way I am 100percent happy with the cases.
Some long long time ago (maybe a year and a half ago), inspired by the craftsmans who make their own rackets, I started a project to make my own racket case. But due to the lack of time, I didn't advance that much. Anyways, the project was not forgotten and I have some nice ideas how to do it, and I plan on resuming it soon
my very own racket case:
