It turns out ML first landed in the top 10(8) in Mar, 2007. Looking back on their H2Hs, you could say ML has always been the favorite to win in the Opens. So, this could be the 1st time Boll enters the match as the favorite.

...but still technically Asian in my book.

Oh no, not again. Pls give me a break.

So you US-Boys & Gals only let American Natives play, 'cause technically the others are Europeans, Asians and Africans?

Where do you draw the line?

Sorry, but this kinda thinking is totally backwards, bigot and hypocritical.
Would you say the same thing about Lily Zhang or Kanak Jha?
I don't think so. I'm quite sure you would consider these two players as American so how come you do this to Han Ying?

technically German in mine :)

Thanks.

Aye, not again.

Anyhow, apart from the (not even so) obvious headliner today, I am curious about Lin Yun Ju who, at the ripe old age of 17, made his way past Xue Fei and Wong Chun Ting and is quite the prospect. I really just discovered him in the doubles' final at the Swedish Open last year, and want to see more. Sorry Dima. :-/

Ito still having immense trouble with Doo.

Was up 8:4 and then 8:9 but managed to come back from behind in game 1.

Game 2. 5:9, 9:9, 9:10, 10:10, 12:10.

Game 3. 11:9.

Game 4. 11:8.

Ito: I was just sleepy the last time!

OTOH, Kato is getting trashed by FTW.

Suga, but these are just "technicalities" as @Usualsuspect noted. He was just referring that she was naturalized, so she has German citizenship (probably dual - not sure), with all the rights and responsibilities as other citizens do.

Wiki says she was granted citizenship at the age of 27, so there's a good chance (don't know her bio) that she learned all her fundamentals and polished her game in China ... hence the "technically" word.

There's nothing wrong with acknowledging someones background and history. Suga let's wisely differentiate motives .. Pls, no need to raise an alarm here ... : )

I would be very surprised if Ito lost now ....
