Heh flore gave ML tough time in the 2016 Korea Open.

Yes, I can't wait. It hasn't been long since he's back from long-term injuries, so both he and Ma Long are sort of level on that front. He's still in it in mixed-doubles, too, with Laura Gasnier.
Got ousted 4-1 in Men's doubles, against Boll-Franziska, but that's a tough cookie...

ML and Boll are probably the most adaptive players in the sport. I doubt Flore's high toss serve will pose much threat again. However, I do think injury is much more problematic for aging players like ML and Boll.

Drinkhall/Walker 12:10 ML/LGY!!

The English pair plays a very simple tactic, by aiming for ML's wide FH and LGY's deep BH repeatedly to great success. 10:6, 10:9, England's TO, 10:12.

4:0, 4:3, 5:3, 5:4, 6:4, 6:6, 6:9, 8:9, China's TO, 8:11. What a shame! Another 8:11 sealed the fate.

OTOH, Harimoto/Kizukuri 7:11, 8:11, 8:11 JYS/LSS. Kizukuri is to blame.

I'm not sure if the current ranking system has anything to do with this, but I was just wondering, would it be more fair if the seeded players participated in the earlier rounds than starting from 32. I mean there are no groups anymore and those best 16 players are getting points just for showing up right? Correct me if I'm wring here.

I.e. Australian Open this year had #1 seeded player starting from round 128 ...

Morizono/Oshima 3:1 LJK/WCQ. Morizono was totally on fire. Earned so many points.
