I recently got this table tennis bat, and i was wondering if any of you more experienced Table Tennis players could give me an estimated value?

Its a Kjell Johansson Stiga1974 (i think), with "Yasaka" rubber (blue).
(Please correct me if im wrong). :)

Wow. Great find. Looks pretty original to me, but I'm no Expert in these things. Maybe TTD member Magic_M can give his expertise.
You might want to take a look at this thread of him from a while back.

Quite hard to tell, as such things like collectors' items' value often lies in the eyes of the beholder or in this case the collector.
But you could also look at this German website. They sell also old and rare blades but I wouldn't take their prices as reference as they appear to be a bit high.

Thank you for your quick and very informative response. I couldn't find the blade at Schmetterball-tt.de, but i'll ask Magic_M.

Have a nice day -

Thanks.

Glad i could be helpful. Hope you had a nice day as well.

Just in case I've just sent him a message with a link to this thread.
Hope he'll see it in time. Haven't seen him online a lot lately though, so we'll have to wait and see.

Too bad the website didn't have your blade. But it could be worthwile checking every now and then. On the other hand you could meanwhile send them also an email. Maybe the owner can give you a direction at least.

Have a nice eve.

I see.
Well, the blue yasaka rubbers are also rare nowadays but after all this time they most likely have lost their grip and became unplayable, whereas the blade can be used more often. But I'm not sure if someone would use this blade for playing although it probably has a feel today's blades won't even come close to, but it's just to risky to ruin it.

Unfortunately the rubber is worn completely off.

I did give it a quick try when i first got it (before it knew how old it was), but unfortunately the rubber were so worn off, that it was almost impossible to get any grip on the ball. I really liked the feel of it though.

I had racket like yours couple years ago (except mine had red rubbers). I traded it with collector and he said that even tough the racket is old it is very common. Your racket seems to be in great condition so it might add the value a little. Based on my previous discussion with a expert I would say that true value of your racket is somewhere between 100€ to 150€. I'm not an expert so I might be wrong here but this is my best guess. Maybe you can get more if you find a right buyer:).

Cheers,
Tommi

Yes, this price-range is realistic.
If the blade (without rubbers) is thin and light, the value will be 80-100€,
if the thickness is bigger (> 5,5 mm) and the weight is high (>90g), the value can be 100-150€

Can you get the rubbers off at all? I bought a Tibhar Power 40 when I was in my teens and tried to reuse it last year only to find that I couldn't get the rubbers off. The speed glue was so dry and stuck that the rubber had to be literally scrapped off bit by bit which eventually damaged the blade and I had to bin it.
