    Andro TP_Ligna series

    I’m searching for something new.

Now I playing with Andro Temper Tech All+. My previous blade was a Andro Super Core Carbon Light All+

The information here about the Tp_line is very poor (and somewhere else).

I like, light blades, spiny and with a lot of control. Not to hard our bouncy.

I’m interested in the TP_Ligna CI off but I’m afraid that he will be a little bit to fast/hard for me.
    I’m used always soft rubbers.

I can not find the wood combination from this blade.

Maybe @Bjorn_Andro he can help me with more information.

Have this blade all ways the same weight?

Many thanks in advance for more information.

I have been interested in this line of blades also. Unfortunately, Andro doesn't give much technical information on their website. I may try one of them someday just on a whim. The construction looks quite good and it would be interesting to try one.

There is a good video with TTD Dan talking with Damien Eloi about the whole Andro blade re-launch.https://youtu.be/BsEGaPFxs_A

And a review of a specific blade. https://youtu.be/qMoH1l6ryeA

I've seen this before trumpet_guy, anyway thanks for this, but even on German Tischtennis forum less of information.
Hopefully Bjorn_Andro want to reply this topic soon.
The problem is, that we can not compare this TP_Ligna with the older version Temper Tech and Super Core Carbon models.

Believe it or not - I emailed Andro directly in February regarding which of the new blades would be most compatible for someone who is currently using a Temper Tech OFF (I know you are using ALL+ but I'm hoping this information helps you anyway) and none other than Damien Eloi replied to me! As the old Temper Tech models have been discontinued I wanted to know the composition of the plies so I could more easily find a similar replacement in the future if I ever need to.

Here are the emails in full (hope Damien doesn't mind me posting them).

TLDR: Temper Tech OFF is Koto-->Pine Tree-->Kiri<--Pine Tree<--Koto
However, plies are quite hard due to the high temperature process. Damien recommends Timber 7 OFF to replace Temper Tech OFF.

    Hi,
I'm a long time user of Andro products and I was wondering if there is a new alternative in the new product line? I really love that blade and I can't find an alternative that has the same feeling. I know that the a Temper Tech series uses high temperature to make the plies harder so I was hoping there is a bat in the new series that has similar properties.

    Regards,
    anjoooo
    Hello anjoooo,

thanks for your mail and for the trust you put in our brand andro.
As you know, we changed totally our blade range in order to make it more readable, easy to understand for endconsumers.
So the Temper tech line disappeared..This was, as you said, high temperature process for the plies. We don´t use this process anymore, but we created the new Timber serie which has nevertheless quite similar playing characteristics.
In the case of Temper Tech OFF, the Timber 7 Off would perfectly replace it.

You will probably need a little bit of time to adapt to this new blade, but this should work out.

Hoping this explanation could help you.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards

    Damien Eloi
    Hi Damien,
It's a shame that there isn't a direct replacement for the Temper Tech series as I loved those blades. I might need to buy a few while there is still stock.

I'd like to ask one more question if that's ok: what are the plies in the Temper Tech OFF? I think that the core is Kiri but I couldn't find any information about the other plies. Thanks!

    Regards,
    anjoooo
    Hi anjoooo,

core is Kiri you are right and then you find pine tree and koto for outer veneer.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards
    Damien Eloi

Also I emailed yesterday evening to Andro and Damien answered this morning very friendly.

    Hi ****

thank you for the interest you have in our brand andro.
Here the composition of TP Ligna CI OFF:
    -1+7 plies: Spruce
    - 2+6 plies: Ayous
    - 3+5 plies: Carbon layer
    - Center ply: Kiri

The TP Ligna is a bit lighter than the treiber CI: 85 g and 90 g.
We try as much as possible to have a constant weight, but you must understand that wood is a leaving material and can have a slight variation from 1 blade to another.
The TP Ligna is slightly faster than the treiber CI.

    Hoping this could help you.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards

Once again, thank you very much Damien Éloi.

I’m really surprised about the composition of this blade. I didn’t expect this outer layers.

So we gone try the TP_Ligna CI off for next competition season. We want to combined this with Rasanter R42 on FH and still keep the Rasant Beat (last one in reserve) on my BH.
As a backup I will keep the Temper Tech All+ in combination with Gewo Nexxus EL pro43 on FH and Nexxus EL pro38 on BH.

    Hi there,

I just bought the TP_ligna ALL last week (apparently 1 of 2 available in Vietnam) with Rasanter R42 BH and Rakza 7 on FH. I was playing with a Treiber K with Rasanter R42 on both sides until I managed to break it.
As I wanted to use a slower blade and the Nittaku acoustic wasn't in stock, I went for the TP_ligna all. It's much slower than the Treiber K but because of the control you get, I am able to complete my strokes and improve my technique and actually be almost as fast as I was before.

Don't know if this helps but if you are an all-rounder, it's a very nice blade

1 and 7 are the outer plies.
The TP_ligna series are probably made by Soulspin like the previous series. If you look on the Soulspin website you can guees the composition of most Lignas.

Maybe because they're expensive? 5 ply ALL is 100 euros, those with carbon are 130 and 140. CI OFF has 2 good reviews on tt11.

Can you tell me the weight of the blade and how long is the handle? Is it thin or thick?

    https://www.andro.de/products/blades...gna-all-en-gb/

You can find the specs there. I don't have a scale to weigh my blade but it's much lighter than my old Treiber K setup

I recently bought a TP_LIGNA OFF in flared handle. The blade is beautifully made. I'm looking forward to trying it later this week.

    86.6g
The wings are lightly sanded to give a blade a very smooth feel in the hand. The spruce top plies are beautiful. Blade thickness is moderate and balance feels fairly neutral.

I'll have R47 on forehand and Omega VII Euro on backhand.

This combination of TP_LIGNA OFF and Andro+Xiom rubbers is a winner. Light weight, powerful, but controllable. Great balance too.

The Nostalgic Allround is 9g heavier than the Ligna. With rubbers and edge tape it is still 9g heavier. This makes the Nostalgic feel a bit more solid when hitting, but the Ligna feels faster. The Ligna may be more bouncy. The Omega VII Euro feels like a better backhand rubber, with crazy good grip on topspins. Honestly, I like both setups a lot. I need more time with the Ligna setup. I am used to Spruce in the second layer, but this has a spruce outer. The balance does not feel as head heavy as my Stiga blades. I like this setup a lot.
