Not a bad strategy. She gains 115 more points doing so, since she got eliminated at the round of 16 last year.

On a side note, WMY was quite lucky today even though she performed well in general. Her spin game was strong, receives were mostly good and her long limbs afforded her a fair amount of coverage, but her service game was monotonous and made some tactical decisions that could have cost her the match (e.g. serving short/half-long and was not ready to follow up with some cross-court rallies). Fortunately for her, Ito's accuracy was nowhere near the level she had yesterday and a couple of net balls that didn't go the Japanese way also contributed to WMY's win. Perhaps this hard-earned victory is the final push she needs to overcome CM later.

Yeah, Adam's volume is way too low. When it's only the sound of the table it's fine, but as soon as there is sound of fans (let alone of music inbetween the sets) it can get really hard to understand him at times. Super annoying.

Typical ITTF issues though. Struggling with delivering the most basic quality.

It's over now. Harimoto shouldn't have lost the second set with 5 set balls, since then Ma Long played with more confidence.
