Isn't LGY in the same team (Tianjin) with Ma Te in 2018 CSL lol. LGY did lose to Ma Te 3-4 (-8, 8, -6, 8, 5, -9, -11) in CNT warm up tournament before 2017 WTTC. Mu Zi lost to chopper Liu Fei 3-4 in that tournament as well, no surprise to me she struggled in HK open.

Does anyone know if Liam Pitchford ever beat a chopper? Last year he lost to Ma Te right after he beat ML in Bulgaria Open. This year, he lost to Wang Yang in WTTC and Ma Te again in HK open.

I think he beat Gionis during an England vs. Greece match. It's also something interesting that German league has choppers but French league doesn't.

So is it because some difference between Asian (Asian style) choppers and European choppers?

Ma Te is a good chopper and not every attacker is good against choppers. Pitchford is clearly not but I remember Ma Te beat Jeoung Youngsik in CSL and Jeoung is Korean. It is just better luck next time. There also aren't many choppers in the French league (I might have said this earlier) and Pitchford is there now. There are more in German league for example.

Many attackers in Europe don't know how to play choppers easily maybe that is what I should just say.

I know Ma Te is a good chopper. He is the only chopper who ever beat XX (once in CSL). But he was also beaten 0-4 by XX last Bulgaria Open after he beat LP. As I checked his results on ITTF site, he hasn't played many matches internationally except in 2013 and in 2018. He lost to multiple Asian players outside CNT. He never lost to European but none were high ranked players beside LP. If he gets more chance to play internationally, can he reach the level of JSH? And JSH comes back to play now and wants to reach WR 20. Will be interesting to have them around.
Then I checked LP ITTF h2h results to see if he is not good at playing choppers. LP vs Gionis 1:1, LP vs Wang Yang 2:3, LP vs MT 0:2, LP vs Filus 0:4! I think I get my answer now, LP did beat choppers before but he is not good at playing choppers, which still surprises me a bit for his level.

And here I was thinking he was a Hou Yingchao like SP chopper.

The official line is that he uses Curl P1R as he is/was TSP sponsored but quite a few photos indicate a fairly slick Chinese LP. The OOAK thread is fantastic with people bugging him on WeChat trying to gets the facts straight etc. Amazing.

I like how Feng Yalan gave Hirano a pat after the handshake, given her comment that Hirano was still not there yet after their encounter in her favor at German Open 2017. A gesture of friendship. A graceful acknowledgement of defeat. CNT should encourage this more.

Not looking good for Ishikawa in terms of ranking points. One blow after another.

For T2 Diamond - yes ...
Ishikawa’s ITTF rating for July, at least, will keep ... But in the ITTF rating for August she may have a noticeable drop .....

Sun Mingyang has been turned into a shooting target for Ito.

The 1st game looks so amateurish. Short rallies. Countless "rookie" mistakes.
