Mima Ito training with Liu Shiwen

Has anyone seen this? I'm surprised these two are practicing with one another: https://twitter.com/tvtokyo_tt/statu...42249043963904

Maybe Liu Shiwen acts as a bulvan to find out more weaknesses in Itos game

Ito wouldn't play proper table tennis against Wang Yidi so Liu Shiwen had to be sent to lure out those secret techniques :-)
the commentator lists Grand Slam winners, calls JOW John Oev Wellner, LGL Louis Goodland (not kidding)

I wonder if Mima will bother to pick up Mandarin. Wang Yuegu and Feng Tianwei lived in Japan for a few years so I'm sure they know some Japanese. Always interesting to see players interact with each other outside their own native language.

Breaking News: Liu Shiwen to represent Japan in Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Joking aside, I don't see why we can't do more of this. It's fun to watch players from one country practicing with players from another. There really isn't nothing you can hide these days with all the technology to analyze your gameplay.

Most of the Japanese younger players can speak/understand Mandarin
