PROTT W968 letters:

AFAIK there is no "commercial" W968, but the font on the blades in the vodeo looks like the commercial HL5.

So? Where are the Fakes?

I haven't eaten a 5000USD melon in Japan, but I've probably tasted maybe 200-500USD ones.
At posh restaurants they would serve you just one or two bites of it.

The quality of food in Japan is incredibly high. Fruits are taken care piece per piece by the producer. They use all the chemicals and technology to make the shape, color, texture and taste perfect. I've never ever eaten anywhere better fruits than in Japan.

Do they deserve the price ? i don't know, but to me, they're the best in the world, and i say that despite being a proud French guy...
and no not all melons are worth 500USD in Japan, in super markets in Tokyo you can find them for 30-50USD, probably much cheaper outside Tokyo

Sure he owns his blades and he can do what he wants, and people can still be pissed off about it. There's something people here do when they wanna show off. They buy two bottles of Champagne, and pour one of them straight into the bar sink or where they can, to "vaska", they simply waste one bottle to show they can afford it. There's no difference if we talk about a tt blade or Champagne, wastefulness with this attitude is unacceptable. This is done by people who have no clue how the world works.

I actually wonder if I can start a TTD campaign where forum members can donate used/unwanted equipment to me, and I can distributed to kids that needs them.
I already gave away 300+ bats the past 3 months. I wish I have 3000+ bats
The move I give away, the more I see the little I provide is way too little....

Good job Tony. Our club sitta does this too. So does ttd member erm.

Privately I did this a few times, but I feel better to leave it to someone like Tony or erm who know the deal and are better connected.

He could have bought bottles of chamapagne and let some already rich winemaker earn more money.
Instead he bought chinese blades from a company where in which probably many non-rich workers are having children that need food. So in this way he let them earn money.
I think what he did was very noble and moral.

Duuuuuude, this is not even right this way. Imagine putting in tons of effort to make a handcrafted blade without too much use of technology and also the time you spend on it. If I were a dhs worker, I'd feel mad about seeing a guy waste my effort. How ever, appears to be fake blades. So, we could just do something else than arguing which is not gonna help. Even if it was real, we can't bring back the past.

Ah yes that was probably his scheme all along because he seems very bright and not doing it to show off at all.

Sounds like a textbook case of the broken window fallacy.

If he cared so much about the workers, he could have just donated money to them.

Then the people who own the company (who are already rich) wouldn't get the overwhelming majority of the profits, and neither the company nor the workers would waste time making bats noone would use.

Capitalism is funded infueling scarcity by limiting supply and fanning (often baseless) demand. Planned obsolescence is part of that, wanton destruction another.

And this is how we keep food from the starving while also letting kilotons go to waste.

Capitalism or socialism is about who owns the means of production, the individual(s) or the state. Nothing more. There are people that will manipulate both systems.

Capitalism doesn't create scarcity. It alleviates it my meeting the demand. In the case of TT, there is a lot of competition.

I do agree that capitalism often fans baseless demand. I can think of stupid fads that have come and gone and most of TT advertising is fraudulent but we are free to vote with our wallets and there certainly is no lack of choices.
